Scotland – A Path Less Known Tours

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings made with A Path Less Known (“we”, “us”, “our”), operating via apathlessknown.com. By booking a tour with us, you (“you”, “the participant”, “the customer”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Booking & Payment
1.1 Bookings are only confirmed once we have received full payment or a deposit as specified at the time of booking.
1.2 Prices are quoted in GBP (£) and include only what is expressly stated on the tour description. Additional personal expenses are the responsibility of the participant.
1.3 Group sizes may be limited to ensure safety and quality of experience.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
2.1 Customer cancellations:
- More than 30 days before departure: Full refund minus any non-refundable deposits/fees.
- 15–30 days before departure: 50% refund.
- Less than 14 days before departure: No refund.
2.2 Cancellations by us:
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a tour due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, safety concerns, insufficient bookings). In such cases, you will be offered either:
- A full refund, or
- Transfer to an alternative tour/date (subject to availability).
3. Health, Safety & Conduct
3.1 By booking, you confirm that you are physically fit to participate in the chosen tour. Certain tours may involve walking on uneven terrain, steep climbs, or variable weather. Please contact us if you have concerns about fitness or accessibility.
3.2 You must follow all safety instructions given by the guide. Failure to comply may result in removal from the tour without refund.
3.3 We reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour is disruptive or endangers others.
4. Travel Insurance
4.1 We strongly recommend that all participants obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:
- Trip cancellation,
- Personal accident, injury or illness,
- Loss or damage of personal property.
4.2 We do not accept responsibility for costs incurred due to inadequate insurance cover.
5. Liability
5.1 While every effort is made to ensure your safety, participation in tours is at your own risk.
5.2 We shall not be liable for:
- Injuries, losses, or damages sustained during the tour unless caused by our proven negligence.
- Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, accidents, or adverse weather.
6. Children & Minors
6.1 Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
6.2 Some tours may have minimum age restrictions (stated on the website).
7. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied during your tour, please raise the issue immediately with your guide so we have an opportunity to resolve it. Formal complaints should be submitted in writing to info@apathlessknown.com within 14 days of the tour.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
