Private guided day tour · Aberdeenshire
Aberdeen Ancient Sites Tour.
Ancient Scotland. Stories Written in Stone.
Stand among prehistoric circles, walk the coast below a dramatic castle and follow the stories that connect Aberdeenshire’s ancient places.
A landscape of memory
Beyond Aberdeen’s granite streets, every stone has a story.
Ancient stone circles stand quietly among rolling hills, underground structures offer glimpses into Iron Age life, and dramatic castles rise above Scotland’s rugged coastline.
Along the way, discover Stonehaven’s historic harbour, the rushing Falls of Feugh and some of Aberdeenshire’s most remarkable places. Your local guide brings the journey together with careful interpretation, honest context and room to simply take it in.

Stories behind the stones
A landscape shaped over millennia.
Aberdeenshire is home to one of the richest concentrations of recumbent stone circles in Scotland. Their distinctive architecture and settings are remarkable, even where the reasons for their construction remain open to interpretation.
Elsewhere, earth houses point to the ingenuity of Iron Age communities; Pictish carved stones preserve symbols from a later world; and castles, harbours and estates reveal how this landscape continued to evolve.
