The evening adventure
At the edge of the North Sea, the cliffs come alive.
Just north of Aberdeen, Bullers o’ Buchan is a remarkable landscape of granite cliffs, sea arches, caves and wild coastal views. During puffin season, it can also be one of the most rewarding places to look for these unmistakable birds.
Puffins are the focus, but the cliffs are home to other seabirds too, including guillemots, kittiwakes, cormorants and razorbills. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed: the weather, season and the birds themselves decide what we see.
This is a small-group, active outing on narrow clifftop paths, designed for guests who are steady on their feet and comfortable with heights.

Head for the coast
Collection at the agreed pickup point at approximately 17:30, then travel to Bullers o’ Buchan.

Even when the puffins are elusive, the Bullers are extraordinary: sea-carved granite, shifting light and the calls of seabirds above the waves.

Before you book
A wild place deserves respect.
Important: This is an active clifftop walk on narrow paths beside steep drops. It is not suitable for anyone uncomfortable with heights or unsteady on their feet.
- Guests must be physically fit, follow the marked cliff paths and obey the guide’s safety instructions.
- All guests are required to sign a disclaimer.
- Puffins generally nest here between April and August, but sightings are never guaranteed.
- Heavy rain, strong winds or unsafe weather may cause cancellation before departure, with a full refund under the tour’s stated cancellation policy.
- If puffins are absent, other seabirds may be observed; a Newburgh Seal Beach visit is possible when tides and circumstances allow.
